Gran Canaria is a diverse island, packed full of fine natural landscapes. Landscapes which seem to change around every corner, thanks to the microclimates brought in by the trade winds.
Gran Canaria, an island which enjoys one of the best climatic conditions in the world, is part of the Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago located in the Atlantic Ocean (210 km off the coast of Africa). Its capital is Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the island gives its name to the province which also includes the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. The moderate year-round temperatures here, which include over 300 days of sunshine and limited rainfall, stimulate health and well being.
Gran Canaria has always been a meeting place for people from hundreds of different places. The magnificent blend of aromas, colors and cultures hits our senses the way they must have ancient travelers on their last European port of call, as they drew their last breath of civilization before setting off on a long ocean adventure.
It is all here – on Gran Canaria, a fabulous island made up of a trail of towns, colors, tastes, music, art, architecture, and assorted faces. This is where our unique and magic blend of hospitality came to be.
This incredible hodgepodge of sights, geography, historical landmarks defies logic. One minute you are stumbling upon a huge neo-gothic church in the middle of a sea of banana trees; the next you run into the ruins of a pre-Hispanic city only two steps away from a lively market.
Further along in your wanderings you come upon a colonial district built in the 15th century, hidden within a noisy and lively port town. And all along, your eyes are drawn to the amazing cliffs stretching along the coast and off to the southernmost point, marked by the 150-year old lighthouse.
